Campus Pastor

Pastor Ron Rude ("PR") came to LCM-UA in Fall 2001. He is married to Nancy, who works for Habitat for Humanity. They have two grown daughters, Angela (Social Worker in Indianapolis) and Jen (Campus Pastor at Pacific Lutheran University-Tacoma WA).

Besides his enthusiasm for college ministry, PR's interests include mountain and desert hiking, Earth science, playing music (drums, piano, guitar), and studying American history through the lives of the 44 US presidents (he's a bit of a general presidential historian).

He has traveled on LCM student trips to Palestine/Israel (Steps of Jesus), Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico, Guatemala, Haiti, Germany (Steps of Martin Luther), and Thailand (inter-faith learning), as well as personal trips to England, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Nepal, Greece and Turkey (Steps of St. Paul).

He regularly teaches classes on "Science, Theology, and Sustainability" and "Presidential History" through the Univ. of AZ's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (for residents in the Tuscon community).

PR is also on YouTube. For the 500th Anniversary of the Protestant Reformation (1517-2017), PR has put together 15 RON Talks (each 10-15 minutes in length). Go to www.youtube.com. Type in "RON Talk 1A" and the rest will appear. Or click: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ron+talk+1a

RON Talks 1A, 1B, 1C look at what happened in 1517.

RON Talks 2A, 2B, 2C look at worldview paradigm shifts that have occurred in the 500 years since (social, political, technology, science, biblical scholarship, etc).

RON Talks 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D, 3E, 3F, 3G, 3H, 3I suggests a way forward for the next leg of the reforming journey.

PR's door is always open. Stop by for conversation, counseling/discussion, or just to talk about your day. You are always WELCOME ... especially when the going gets rough, as it does every so often in college. It's nice to have a listening ear. Ron has two.  rhrude47@yahoo.com
