a powerful film to see -

Hi LCM friends,

I saw the film "Who is Dayani Cristal" last night. Wow, powerful. A unidentified "John Doe" body is found in the desert just south of Tucson. The documentary tries to find who this man was, and his story. The only clues on his decomposing body are "Dayani Cristal" tattooed on his chest, and a crumpled piece of paper with the "Immigrant's Prayer" in his pocket. The researchers follow his journey from Honduras. They find his wife and 2 children and extended family, whom he leaves to find for them a better life.  His little daughter is named Dayani Cristal. The overall theme is that current Immigration Law in the U.S. makes it impossible for a desperate and poor person, who wants to find a better life for his loved ones, to come here legally. So they risk everything to come here illegally.

I have no idea what to do about realities of immigration. However, unless we see each of these persons and their desperate families as full blown children of God, and in most cases brothers and sisters in Christ, as was the case with this man and his family, any solution we come up with will be in the anti-God side of things.

See the film if you get a chance. I'd like to hear your thoughts.  http://whoisdayanicristal.com/about

Meanwhile, pray for those caught in desperate circumstances.

God's peace,

Ron
